Response to Public Statements by Hennepin County Association of Paramedics and EMTs (HCAPE)

On Monday, January 23, 2023, the Hennepin County Association of Paramedics and EMTs (HCAPE) made a Facebook post attacking the Minnesota State Fire Chiefs Association (MSFCA) and fire service leaders across the state. Their post was full of erroneous information about our position on Emergency Ambulance Reform; it is clearly a distasteful attempt to discredit the Minnesota fire service and the hard-working men and women that work tirelessly to serve their communities every day. Frankly, their comments – and treatment of our volunteer, on-call, and career firefighters across the state – cannot be left unchecked.

Coinciding with the launch of the EMSinMinnesota.com website, we are also publishing a full rebuttal to HCAPES vile social media post.

Our reply can be viewed here.

On behalf the Minnesota State Fire Chiefs Association (MSFCA), I want to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to every Minnesota firefighter for being a person of integrity, honor, and pride. I will simply not allow any person or organization work to discredit the great work our firefighters do every day.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me directly with any questions.

Sincerely,

Signature

T. John Cunningham, President
Minnesota State Fire Chiefs Association (MSFCA)
